The officer also told Andersen and friends they had to go somewhere else. Andersen says when he heard that, he muttered “f–king bulls–t,” according to WZZM-TV.
“What got me to start arguing a little bit, they were asking all of us to leave because he got a ticket,” Andersen said, according to the Associated Press. “That’s not fair. We’re just standing around.”
After Andersen dropped the F bomb, the officer gave him a ticket for disorderly conduct, a charge he thinks is unfair.
“I don’t think I deserve this ticket,” he told a Livingston County Judge, according to the Livingston Daily News. “I don’t think I did anything wrong.”
Andersen told the judge that children were not close by when he cursed and he did it under his breath.
Brighton Police Chief Tom Wightman disagreed with Andersen’s testimony, and chuckled when a lawyer asked him to respond to Andersen’s “under the breath” comment.
“That would require an officer with some incredible hearing,” Wightman said, according to USA Today.
