We Know The Location Of Chibok Girls – NSC

 

National Security Council (NSC) has insisted that security agencies know the location of over 200 abducted schoolgirls aducted by the Islamist sect Boko Haram from Government Secondary School, Chibok in Borno State, but are being careful not to endanger their lives.

Chief of Defence Staff, Alex Badeh had in May said the security agencies know where the girls are, an announcement that reportedly irked the presidency. “The good news for the girls is that we know where they are but we cannot tell you,” Badeh had said. Now the NSC has come out to make the same claim.
“Nobody should come and say the Nigerian military does not know what it’s doing. We know what we are doing. We can’t go and kill our girls in the name of trying to get them back,” he added.
Speaking to State House correspondents, shortly after the National Security Council (NSC) meeting presided over by President Goodluck Jonathan, Director of State Security (SSS), Ita Ekpeyong said “the issue of Chibok girls, government is making efforts.
“We know where they are but we don’t want to endanger their lives, that is the truth, we want to take it ‎gradually and release them at the appropriate time. We know where they are, you can go to bed with that.”
Asked about what transpired at the meeting, Ekpeyong said it was the war against Boko Haram. He added that efforts are being made by government to rescue the Chibok girls.
