“Nobody should come and say the Nigerian military does not know what it’s doing. We know what we are doing. We can’t go and kill our girls in the name of trying to get them back,” he added.
Speaking to State House correspondents, shortly after the National Security Council (NSC) meeting presided over by President Goodluck Jonathan, Director of State Security (SSS), Ita Ekpeyong said “the issue of Chibok girls, government is making efforts.
“We know where they are but we don’t want to endanger their lives, that is the truth, we want to take it gradually and release them at the appropriate time. We know where they are, you can go to bed with that.”
Asked about what transpired at the meeting, Ekpeyong said it was the war against Boko Haram. He added that efforts are being made by government to rescue the Chibok girls.
